Aluminum patio chairs, place your chair and supplies on a canvas outdoors or in a well ventilated area only. Clean the chair with a clean, dry cloth to remove any oil, moisture or dirt. Arena zero and the surrounding area with steel wool, holding the steel wool firmly and stroking through zero several times. Continue to sand the area until the scratch and a couple of inches around are smooth and bare.

Wipe off any residue with a clean, dry cloth. Add a layer of light-based paint spray enamel. Hold the spray cans 6 to 8 inches from the surface of the aluminum patio chairs. Spray in short bursts using a sweeping motion from side to side. Just cover the area with a light base coat, avoiding runs. Let dry for one to two hours. Apply a second coat of the enamel spray paint. Hold the spray cans 6 to 8 inches from the surface of the chair.
